Doherty 'Distressed' As He Knelt By Dying Man
LATEST: Troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY was "distressed" as he knelt beside a dying actor outside a party, according to a witness.
MARK BLANCO, who was set to star in London play THE ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST, fell from a second floor balcony at a house party attended by Doherty in London last Saturday (02DEC06). He died in hospital.
One partygoer has told British newspaper The Guardian that Doherty was "clearly very concerned" when he saw Blanco still breathing.
She says, "He came out of the house and was clearly very concerned. He came and stooped down next to me.
"I was saying to Peter, 'It's OK, it's alright.' Peter went, 'It's not f**king OK, it's not alright,' and was clearly very distressed.
"It seems that it's a tragic accident. I'm sure that from the inquest they will be able to tell us what's happened, and I trust they will be right.'"
BABYSHAMBLES frontman Doherty was quizzed by police about the incident on Thursday (07DEC06), and they took a statement of the rocker's version of events.
He was not questioned under caution and was not directly involved with the actor's death, but was seen fighting with Blanco earlier in the evening.
