Quentin Tarantino - Django Unchained Pulled From Chinese Cinemas On Opening Day
Quentin Tarantino's blockbuster Django Unchained has been pulled from Chinese cinemas on its first day of release.
Tarantino's slavery-era Western is the first of his movies to be released in China as his previous offerings, including Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds, were banned due to their gory content.
The director even toned down the film's violence to meet the country's strict censure rules, but all screenings of the movie, which was released on Thursday (11Apr13), have now been cancelled, according to Chinese news and entertainment website Sina.com.
Local reports suggest the screenings have been suspended due to "technical reasons".
