Dj Am's Charity Helps Budding Djs
The charity set up to honour late ADAM 'DJ AM' GOLDSTEIN is helping troubled teens turn their lives around by steering them towards a career in DJing.
The star passed away last year (09) after suffering an accidental drug overdose after battling addiction for years.
Now executives at the DJ AM Memorial Fund, the foundation set up in Goldstein's name after his tragic death, are helping youngsters suffering from drug addiction by donating DJ equipment to a rehab centre.
The drive aims to inspire kids at the Phoenix House Academy in Los Angeles to kick their deadly habit and find a new passion in music.
A representative for the charity tells TMZ.com, "We wanted to find a way to continue Adam's legacy of giving back that would include music as a key component. Making a donation that includes a DJ station helps Adam's legacy live on."
