Dire Straits Star Helps War Veterans

Former DIRE STRAITS star MARK KNOPFLER is re-releasing hit single BROTHERS IN ARMS to raise money for veterans of Britain's Falklands war. The rocker is donating all new royalties from the 1985 song to charity SAMA 82, which sends traumatised soldiers back to the islands to conquer their demons, to mark the 25th anniversary of the conflict against Argentina. Knopfler says, "I'm touched my song, written during the war, was picked to help those still suffering."
