Dillon Enjoys Faux Oscar Win

MATT DILLON is thrilled when people come up and congratulate him on his Oscar win, even though he actually lost to GEORGE CLOONEY. The star was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar for his performance in CRASH this year (06), but lost out to Clooney, who took home the prize for his performance in SYRIANA. He explains, "Unfortunately, I didn't win. But it was very exciting because the picture was a sleeper from the very beginning. "Nobody imagined that this would have been the result and it was very exciting. "One thing I'd say that has changed is that people will come up and congratulate me on winning the Oscar. And I don't correct them. "I'm like, 'Thank you very much!' I don't tell them 'You've got me mistaken for Clooney!' I'm like, 'Thank you, that's very nice!'"
