Country star Dierks Bentley spent the nights before his big Ryman Auditorium gig in Nashville, Tennessee in a city hotel - so he wouldn't get sick at home.
The Home singer's wife Cassidy insisted the singer preserve his voice and health before the concert and checked him into a nearby hotel while his kids battled colds.
Bentley dedicated his song Heart of a Lonely Girl to his wife as a thank you for looking out for him.
He told fans, "When a country singer with a song called Home walks into a hotel in the town he lives in with a backpack and guitar, you get some pretty odd looks. This song is going out to Cassidy, wherever she is, for helping me get through the last few days."
Bentley's kids are now over the worst of their sicknesses - and little Evie, three, joined dad onstage for the song Thinking of You during the Ryman show on Thursday night (02Feb12), according to Country Weekly magazine.
