Dianna Agron Questions Parents Over Gq Glee Shoot

DIANNA AGRON, the star of hit US show GLEE, has hit back at criticism of her recent GQ photo-shoot, which saw members of the shows cast posing for revealing and risque photographs. 24-year-old Agron appeared alongside LEA MICHELE and CORY MONTEITH in the shoot, which the Parents Television Council said 'bordered on paedophilia'.
However, despite giving a loose apology on her personal blog, Agron has questioned why parents are allowing their young children to read the magazine in the first place, she said, "If you are hurt or these photos make you uncomfortable, it was never our intention. If your eight-year-old has a copy of our GQ cover in hand, again I am sorry. But I would have to ask, how on earth did it get there?" She went on to explain how parents could stop their children from accessing such material, saying, "There are parental locks, and ways to get around this".
Despite the fact that Agron and Michele are 24-years old and Monteith is 28, the photo-shoot has been criticised largely because the cast of GLEE play high-school students, and the majority of the show's fan base are said to be aged between 8 and 12-years old. GLEE season 2 is currently airing on the FOX network.

I AM NUMBER $'s picture

I AM NUMBER $

This is JUST ridiculous! How many other Hollywood Starlets would have this much hoopla over some pictures? I mean it is not like they posed in Playboy, which, for some reason is not an emabarassing thing to do? "Why, yes, son, Mommy IS naked in this Magazine and leaning on a tractor(?), but EVERYONE was doing it at the time AND they paid me well..."I say GO DIANA and LEA!! FORGET ALL THIS NEGATIVITY AND YOU GO FOR IT!! You are both GORGEOUS and have nothing to apologize for.

I loved that Dianna commented back to the parents of HOW your kids would even see the GQ magazine - good for you! It amazes me how quickly people can pawn off responsibility for their own children.Yeah, they play teenagers but they are well above the age to consider this in bad taste. Get a life, PTC. And btw, what actual stats are there that shows their main audience age is between 8 and 12? Doubt it.Great show and great GQ cover!A 44 Yr old Fan

Thankless Vet in Chicago's picture

Thankless Vet i...

I agree with Dianna when she inquired as to why a minor child has access to an adult magazine!?! Why is the blame put on everyone but the parent(s)? If you can't monitor what your child reads, watches or does, don't have any!!! YOUR kids are YOUR responsibility! Everyone in that photoshoot is of legal age, so should the readers be of Gentlemen's Quarterly, A Magazine For MEN!!! Otherwise, "READER BEWARE!" I'm so sick of all these organizations and entities rallying against situations that clearly should hold the parents of said offended parties responsible for negligence. Neglecting to monitor what your child reads, listens to (music) and watches (tv and movies), to include the video games they play, should ALL be Misdemeanor Neglect charges brought against the parents FIRST, then when that hits their records they can feel free to pursue their purging and curtailing of other people's freedoms. Such utter nonsense. Seems that I fought for these freedoms just so I can read and watch on tv all the non-stop crap like this. Good to know we're losing limbs and lives overseas to protect negligent parents' rights to complain. Keep your kids at home under lock and key or keep your husband from lusting over hotter girls than your frumpy self!!! As far as the demographic of Glee viewers, that too is the parents' responsibility to teach their child that what they see on tv is not real (in most cases) and although someone portrays a minor on tv, they shouldn't be held to that portrayal off screen. The truth of the matter really is, those girls are hot and the complainer is not. This rant sounded better uncensored, but I didn't want to have to retort my own retort.
