Diane Lane Missed Family While Shooting Latest Movie
DIANE LANE, the 45-year-old actress who is gaining rave reviews for her portrayal of 'Penny Chenery' in new movie 'Secretariat', has admitted to feeling guilty at having to spend time away from her family whilst filming her latest movie. Lane said that working in showbiz ranks alongside working on oil rigs, and in space, as jobs that allow the least time for family.
Lane is married to the actor JOSH BROLIN and has a 17-year-old daughter named Eleanor, but in an interview with The Globe & Mail, the actress said, "There are very few industries that sequester employees away from their families for two or three months. You've got the people on oil rigs, you've got astronauts, and you've got people in showbiz." Lane stars as horse enthusiast Chenery in her latest movie, and one particular scene which sees the actress alone in a hotel room evoked familiar feelings, she said, "That's territory that I'm well-versed in, unfortunately. There are moments like that throughout any mother's life".
The actress, who starred in 'The Perfect Storm' hasn't worked since 2008's 'Nights in Rodanthe', citing the need to spend more time with her family. However, 'Secretariat' was released on 8th October 2010, and gained immediate praise from audiences and critics alike.
