Late royal DIANA, Princess Of Wales's former butler Paul Burrell has been quizzed by cops over a letter written by her accusing husband Prince Charles of plotting to kill her.

The note - written after the couple's acrimonious split - was revealed by Burrell earlier this year (03) following the publication of his controversial biography A ROYAL DUTY.

And now British investigators, who have launched a fresh inquiry into Diana's death, have spoken to the 45-year-old employee over the letter - which makes serious allegations against the heir to the throne.

Burrell says, "I know what Diana told me and I know what was in that letter."

Prince Charles - who was openly devastated after Diana's 1997 fatal car crash - will be interviewed by Metropolitan police commissioner SIR JOHN STEVENS later this month (MAY04).
