The ladies were right to "storm out".
A 68 year-old woman with a well-documented broken ankle, famous or no, deserves some consideration. I wouldn't want to eat there, either, had they treated my mother that way. BTW, anyone else notice that Miss Ross' injury isn't even mentioned in the "article"?
Note, also, the restaurant's haste in reporting the "incident"(milking it for all of the publicity it's worth), the tacky, petty tone they used & the entity to whom they reported it, The NY Post, of all outlets. That, alone, speaks volumes about the restaurant & Ms. Leon's character and the restaurant's policy.
The real context here is that Miss Ross & her children enjoy each others' company, frequently dining together to reconnect, etc.

As she recently broke her ankle, I would imagine it was more a case of her asking if she could sit down and wait for her daughter to arrive, rather than stand around on her broken ankle. I know she can be a little 'tetchy' at times, but on this occasion I think she should have been shown a bit of consideration.
