Devo To Release Track In Homage To Mitt Romney Dog Incident

Mitt Romney's dog incident continues to haunt him, and now it's being enshrined into art documentation forever with the news that legendary new-wavers Devo have written a song specifically regarding the flagrant animal cruelty. The incident, for those of you who don't know, saw the Romney family drive Massachusetts to Ontario for a family vacation (a long way for those of you not sure on your American geography), with their pet Irish setter Seamus in a box that had been tied to the top of the roof of the car.

Devo, who've always retained an excellent sense of humor within their work, are paying a dubious kind of homage to the incident by releasing the track 'Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro! (Remember Seamus)', according to Rolling Stone. The single will apparently be released on August 25th. With the election campaign hotting up between Romney and Obama, Devo are, in their own tongue in cheek way, coming out very much on the side of the current President. The group's founder Gerard V. Casale is kicking off a campaign called Remember Seamus, that is supposed to help "make 2012 the year where animals like Seamus are valued and honesty is praised."

Additionally, Casale is designing a special shirt with the logo Dogs Against Romney. Ah, Devo, we love you.
