Two electronic dance music festivals set for 4 July (14) in Detroit, Michigan have been scrapped.
The Detroit Electronic Music Festival at Campus Martius Park and the Federation of Electronic Music Technology at Ford Field were both scheduled for America's Independence Day weekend, but organisers have announced the events will not take place this summer (14).
The cancellation is partly due to construction of a new rail system in downtown Detroit and, according to a statement from promoters, because of a number of "festival developments" that require more time to "ensure their proper presentation".
The organisers insist the festivals will take place next year (15).
