Despite Octomom And Idol , Cbs Wins Again

The list of top-ten television shows for last week was composed mostly of the usual players, with NBC remaining on the sidelines. The network's top-rated show was a Dateline feature in which Ann Curry interviewed "octomom" Nadya Suleman, which was watched by 11.3 million viewers. Fox's American Idol once again occupied the top two positions, and although its numbers have softened somewhat, its audience was 24 percent larger than No. 3 on the list, CBS's The Mentalist. Nevertheless, CBS dominated overall, placing six shows in the top ten and finishing the week with an average 7.1 rating and a 12 share. That was well above second-place Fox's 5.8/9. ABC finished third with a 4.8/8, while NBC trailed with a 4.1/7.
