The 'Desperate Housewives' creator says anger wasn't the reason he killed off Nicollette Sheridan's character, Edie Britt, on the show.
The 'Desperate Housewives' creator says anger wasn't the reason he killed off Nicollette Sheridan's character on the show.
During the actress' wrongful termination court case, Marc Cherry insisted in his testimony that he had approval to kill off Nicollette's alter-ego Edie Britt in May 2008, four months prior to when the actress claims he hit her in the head while they were talking about a scene.
Marc also denied claims by Sheridan's attorneys that he tried to influence the statements of other employees on the show.
'Desperate Housewives' star James Denton - who plays Mike Delfino - rehearsed with Nicollette on the day of her alleged dispute with Mark and revealed he didn't know about Edie's death until he read a scrip with it in the following year.
He said: ''I can't say I was shocked, only because people get killed so often.''
Meanwhile, 'Desperate Housewives' producer George Perkins has let it slip that Mike will die in an episode that is due to air in the US this Sunday (11.03.12).
