Depp & Cotillard's French Secrets

Depp bonded with the French actress on the set of the gangster movie, and found himself slipping into her mother tongue when he wanted a private conversation.

The actor - who lives in the South of France with his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis and their two children, 10-year-old daughter Lily-Rose and seven-year-old son Jack - admits the pair often communicated in French.

He says, “We would sometimes speak French to each other on the set, especially when we didn’t want anyone else to know what we were saying!”
