Depeche Mode Singer Hospitalisedby Contributor | 13 May 2009
Depeche Mode's lead singer, Dave Gahan, 47, has been hospitalised in Athens and forced to cancel a concert.
Gahan is suspected of having gastroenteritis, after being taken ill just before the group's Greek concert was due to kick off.
The band began their world tour last week, to promote their new album, 'Sounds of the Universe'. It is yet to be confirmed whether Gahan will have recovered for the group's gig in Istanbul on Thursday.
Depeche Mode, who are originally from Essex, are famed for songs such as 'Personal Jesus'. They have sold over 75 million albums worldwide.
