Denver Station Apologizes For Airing Doctored Book Cover
After becoming the object of ridicule on numerous websites on Wednesday, KMGH, the ABC affiliate in Denver, apologized for showing a doctored image of the cover of Paula Broadwell's book about David Petraeus, All In. The station had grabbed a photo of the cover off the Internet that a prankster had altered to read All Up In My Snatch. By late in the day, a clip from the KMGH newscast in which the doctored cover was displayed went viral. Initially, the station responded by simply stating that the graphic was a mistake. But as the hullabaloo mounted, the station's news director issued a formal apology, calling the mistake regrettable and embarrassing. In a statement, Jeff Harris said, We have corrected the story to avoid any recurrence of its broadcast. We are following up internally as well to avoid a repeat of this inexcusable oversight.
