Dee Snider - Dee Snider Denounces Paul Ryan Over 'We're Not Gonna Take It'
Dee Snider has denounced the use of his song We're Not Gonna Take It,/i> by republican Paul Ryan at the Politian's rally in Pennsylvania yesterday, reports Rolling Stone.
Snider announced his reluctance, as he does in the song in question, to 'take it' when Ryan, the candidate for vice-presidency, used the Twisted Sister hit at a campaign rally, saying "I emphatically denounce Paul Ryan's use of my band Twisted Sister's song, 'We're Not Gonna Take It,' in any capacity. There is almost nothing he stands for that I agree with except the use of the P90x." A witty email from Ryan's spokesman Brandon Buck (probably the most apt name for a spokesperson ever) responded to Snider's complaint, and was titled: "We're Not Gonna Play It Any More." It seems Ryan will have to find a musician with a republican set of political views if he wants to blast out rock hits at his public appearances; his right wing ideology isn't sitting well with America's biggest anti-establishment musicians, unsurprisingly. Its unlikely he'll find one, though.
Ryan's been getting on lots of people's nerves recently; The Rage Against The MAChine guitarist, Tom Morello recently told him where to stick his praise for the 90's anarchist-rock-outfit by saying "Ryan claims that he likes Rage's sound, but not the lyrics. Well, I don't care for Paul Ryan's sound or his lyrics. He can like whatever bands he wants, but his guiding vision of shifting revenue more radically to the one percent is antithetical to the message of Rage."
