Debbie Reynolds Says Taylor Is Out Of Her Pain

Debbie Reynolds says she is happy that Elizabeth Taylor is finally "out of her pain".Debbie Reynolds, the Hollywood movie star who has been friends with Elizabeth Taylor since the age of 7, says she is happy that the actress is now in heaven and "out of her pain".Taylor passed away yesterday (23rd March 2011) at the age of 79 from heart failure and Reynolds spoke to Access Hollywood Live's Billy Bush and Kit Hoover about her relationship with the late actress. The 78-year-old said, "God bless her, she's on to a better place. I'm happy that she's out of her pain because she was in a lot of pain. This was a blessing in disguise, you know, she's in heaven and she's in a heavenly place and she's happy". When quizzed on how she remembered Taylor, Reynolds replied, "as a young great star", who loved her charity work, good-looking men and dirty jokes. The friends eventually made up following a heavily publicised scandal in 1959 when Taylor was accused of "stealing" Reynolds husband Eddie Fisher. The actress joked about the drama during yesterday's interview, saying, "I was at her wedding with Mike Todd, and went through all her different turbulent times and I even gave her my husband for goodness sake. What a good friend can you be!"

In recent years, Debbie Reynolds has appeared in a number of documentaries charting Hollywood's 'golden age', most notably 'The Brothers Warner' in 2008 and 'Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age' in 2009.

Debbie, after all that has happened over the years with your life's problems as well, you and Carrie have walked tall. You both have been the true devoted friends to Elizabeth that she needed in her life. Forgiveness and understanding rank high on the list of Heaven's Gate, I would think. May her beauty, talent, kindness and charitable work never be forgotten.
