Katie Holmes - "Dead Accounts" Featuring Katie Holmes To Close Seven Weeks Ahead Of Schedule
Katie Holmes is currently in the midst of her first acting gig since splitting up from Tom Cruise this summer, but apparently it is underwhelming, to say the least – Dead Accounts is going to cancelled seven weeks ahead of schedule.
The show, has had the lowest attendance rate on Broadway in the last week with just 31% of its seats filled, according to the New York Times. It is also raking in 25% under its expected profits and there is simply no going around the fact that Dead Accounts just isn’t performing as expected (if you’ll pardon the pun). No wonder then, that the play will be closing on January 6, instead of February 24, as planned.
According to Broadwayworld.com, the show’s producer, Jeffrey Finn, is happy with its run anyway. "I am extremely proud of this production and the cast. Theresa Rebeck and Jack O'Brien have created an inspiring and hilarious new play and we are all sad to see Dead Accounts end on Broadway. I look forward to working with this remarkably talented cast and creative team again very soon."
Nice sentiment, but the show’s numbers don’t lie. Whether it’s due to a bad script, a bad casting or just plain bad luck, Dead Accounts has been a flop. Sorry Katie, we’re still rooting for you.
