David Walliams' Book Adapted Into Tv Comedy

David Walliams' best-selling novel is heading to the small screen after the funnyman signed a deal for a one-off TV comedy drama in his native U.K.

The Little Britain star is adapting his second book Mr Stink into a 60-minute programme for the Bbc.

The novel, about a 12-year-old girl who meets a tramp and helps look after him, was recently nominated for a top literacy award in the U.K., and Walliams is delighted his tale will hit screens later this year (12).

He says, "I am beyond thrilled that Bbc One is adapting my children's book Mr Stink into a family film. I have written the script, and can't wait to see actors bring it to life."
