Hollywood executive David Neuman is in the clear over allegations of sexual abuse of a teenager after the accused's legal team removed his name from court papers.
Former Disney Tv president Neuman and two other men - Tv boss Garth Ancier and Broadway producer Gary Goddard - were named in a lawsuit by Michael Egan in April (14), alleging they assaulted him in 1999 when he was a teenager.
All three men later spoke out to deny Egan's claim they abused him during parties in Hawaii and Los Angeles, and now a new report suggests Neuman's name has been removed from the legal action.
It came after Neuman's lawyer filed documents including a sworn declaration from Egan, made in 2003, in which he stated he never had any sexual contact with Neuman and he had "never acted inappropriately".
Neuman's lawyer, Patricia Glaser, tells The Hollywood Reporter, "This evening the completely unfounded and 100 per cent false charges against our client David A. Neuman, were dismissed. Today's news affirms to everyone that David Neuman's fine reputation deserves to stand strong and was attacked with no merit...
"In as much as we celebrate the truth this evening, we will hold accountable those who wrongly created the hurt and damage by making outrageous, untruthful assertions that cannot be undone. We question seriously the underlying prejudices and motives in targeting David Neuman with this groundless and defamatory action. Today's dismissal exposes this despicable lawsuit for what it really was: an unethical smearing and failed shakedown of a completely innocent man."
The Californian rockers were defiant in their intention to play the venue once again.
