David Lynch - David Lynch Calling For Fan Donations For Wayne Shorter Documentary
Filmmaker David Lynch is calling on fans to donate to an ongoing crowdsourcing campaign to help fund a new documentary about jazz great Wayne Shorter.
The Mulholland Drive director's pal, Dorsay Alavi, is hoping his campaign on PledgeMusic.com raises enough to cover the costs of the film, but with just nine days left and 76 per cent of its unidentified goal reached, Lynch has decided to reach out to his Twitter.com followers in an effort to boost the profile of the project.
In a post on Tuesday (11Jun13), he writes, "Dear Twitter Friends, help preserve the musical legacy of one of the greatest living jazz legends Wayne Shorter. My friend Dorsay Alavi is making this great documentary called Wayne Shorter: Zero Gravity".
Fans are encouraged to pledge different increments of cash in exchange for special memorabilia, from Cds and T-shirts to signed Dvds, and even a private dinner with Shorter and Herbie Hancock for $20,000 (£12,903).
If the target is reached, Wayne Shorter: Zero Gravity will be released in 2014.
