David Geffen - David Geffen Donates $25 Million To Planned Film Museum
Music and movie tycoon David Geffen has donated $25 million (£15.6 million) to a new museum project planned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The entertainment mogul has handed over the huge amount to the board which hands out the annual Academy Awards to help fund the construction of a film museum in Los Angeles.
The building will open next to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2017.
Geffen's donation is the biggest single contribution given to the museum's fundraising drive, which bosses hope will hit $300 million (£187 million).
Geffen is a big player in Hollywood - he co-founded DreamWorks Skg with Steven Spielberg in 1994 and his Geffen Film Company and Geffen Pictures businesses have produced movies including Risky Business, Beetlejuice and Interview with the Vampire.
