David Cassidy - David Cassidy's Vegas Show Shambles Blamed On Medication Mix-up

A representative for David Cassidy has blamed the star's shambolic Las Vegas show last week (ends01Jul12) on a medication mix-up, insisting the singer feared he would "pass out" because he was "so out of it".
The former teen idol took to the stage at the South Point Hotel and Casino, and paid tribute to his late friend Davy Jones during the set by singing five of The Monkees' most famous hits.
A reporter at the Las Vegas Review-Journal claimed several fans walked out of the concert because Cassidy was berating the audience during a "rambling" performance, and his publicist has now addressed the incident.
Jo-Ann Geffen insists Cassidy deeply regrets the below-par show, which occurred after he combined medication for a cold with his eczema pills, and is planning to stage another gig to make it up to his fans.
She tells the newspaper, "(Cassidy) was not feeling well and made the mistake of combining cold medication, which he needed for his voice, and cortisone (for eczema which he gets every time he comes to Las Vegas).
"He was so out of it from the combination that he thought he would pass out and, the next day, didn't even know there had been a problem until he was told.
"(Cassidy) feels awful about any embarrassment he caused the venue, his band, fans and other audience members, and is offering to perform a free show at South Point to benefit a charity of their choice.
"He clearly doesn't do well on medicine! I am confident he will never take any before a show again no matter how awful he feels."
