David Bowie - David Bowie Exhibition Breaks London Museum Records

A retrospective of David Bowie's colourful life and career at London's Victoria and Albert Museum has broken records after 26,000 tickets were sold for the upcoming exhibition.

Bosses at the V&A have been given unprecedented access to the rocker's personal archive for the attraction, which will feature over 60 of his outrageous stage costumes, as well as sketches and storyboards by the man himself.

The exhibition is not due to open to visitors until 23 March (13) but Bowie fans have already been rushing to buy tickets.

The 26,000 pre-sale booking has broken museum records, and the collection looks set to be the venue's most successful display to date.

Interest in the Ziggy Stardust hitmaker has risen dramatically since he shocked fans with a surprise comeback last month (Jan13), while his 24th studio album The Next Day will also be released in March.

The V&A display will run until August (13).
