David Arquette opens up about his battle with alcohol and drugs during an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show later today (24th February 2011).
DAVID ARQUETTE, the American actor who recently separated from his wife Courteney Cox, has given his first post-rehab interview to OPRAH WINFREY, which airs later today, reports US Weekly.Arquette said his lifelong struggle with alcohol and drugs began at the age of four, saying, "When I had my first drink of beer, I must have been 4 years old. I was down in the basement with my dad and beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it. And I remember that. It's one of my earliest memories". The 39-year-old said he moved onto drugs only a few years later, saying, "I seriously started drinking probably when I was about 12. I stole pot from my father when I was 8 years old". Arquette, who checked into the Betty Ford Centre in January this year, says he has been sober since December 2009 through the help of his estranged wife Cox and his sister Patricia Arquette.
After splitting from Cox last year, DAVID ARQUETTE made an appearance on the Howard Stern radio show in October 2010 in which he admitted to an infidelity, saying, "I had sex with a girl once. Maybe twice".
