Dave Stewart To Play First Hometown Show In 44 Years
The former Eurythmics star grew up in Sunderland, north-east England and last performed there at the age of 16.
He never returned to the city during his time in the Eurythmics, but he is finally heading home for a show there as the first date of his The Ringmaster Tour.
The rocker will perform at the Sunderland Empire - the venue where he saw his first ever gig as a youngster.
Stewart tells British newspaper The Daily Mail, "The Eurythmics never played in Sunderland, so my last gig there was in a folk club at 16. The first gig I ever saw was Free, with the late Paul Kossoff, at the Empire. Starting a tour there will be epic."
Stewart is scheduled to take the stage at the Sunderland Empire on 3 September (12).
