Dave Matthews Band - Dave Matthews Playing Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert14 November 2012
Rockers Dave Matthews Band have turned the first stop of their upcoming winter tour into a benefit concert to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The Crash Into Me hitmakers will kick-off their U.S. trek on 30 November (12) with a performance at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey - one of the states hardest-hit by the post-tropical cyclone, which ravaged the North East last month (Oct12).
And to aid those affected by the superstorm, the group has pledged to donate the evening's ticket and merchandise sales to recovery agency Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund.
According to the Associated Press, the band estimates it will raise at least $1 million (Gbp625,000).
The Grammy winners aren't the only ones holding charity shows in the area - Carrie Underwood is handing over the funds earned from her Atlantic City gig on Friday (09Nov12) to the local community to help rebuild the resort city, while rockers Taking Back Sunday will stage a benefit concert in Toms River next week (25Nov12).
In New York City, music producer Afrojack will join over a dozen Djs at nightclub Pacha on Wednesday night (14Nov12) to raise money for a local chapter of the American Red Cross.
