Dave Grohl's Faithful Guitar

Dave Grohl's Faithful Guitar

Dave Grohl writes all his songs on the same guitar.

Foo Fighters frontman is ritualistic about the way he writes songs and little has changed about the way he puts albums together since the beginning of his career in the band, when he recorded the lo-fi demos, which went on to be released as the band's first album in 1994, at home.

He said: "Not much has changed, really. I used to have a blatant disregard for lyrics. Nowadays I actually make an effort. But, I still write on the same old guitar, still demo on my same old cassette player, still use thin Sharpie pens and yellow school paper. Some habits you just don't wanna break."

Dave has recently been recoding Foo Fighters seventh album at his home, with the rest of the group - Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Pat Smear - and says the record will be the band's heaviest yet and the group can't wait for them to unveil the new songs live.

He added: "Oh yeah! These things never seem real until The Lights go down and you step out to see the audience's faces for the first time.

"It's such an incredible feeling. But, I can already imagine the energy. We're gonna level the joint."

Foo Fighters will be playing the Milton Keynes Bowl in England on July2 and 3 next year.

UK Fans can register for priority tickets by texting FOO to 2020 from a mobile on the O2 network.
