Dave Franco: 'New Fright Night Is Different'
Dave Franco admits the reimagining of 80s slasher movie 'Fright Night' will be quite different to the original.
Dave Franco admits the new 'Fright Night' movie is different from the original.
The 'Scrubs' actor - the brother of 'Milk' star James Franco - admits his character in the film has been added to the script, proving it to be different from the original 80s movie.
He said: "I play the a*shole. It's fun, but I keep getting cast as the a*shole, which I don't know how to take.
"He has no redeeming qualities, so you're just going to hate me throughout this whole thing and be praying for my death.
"The original is very campy, very 80s in an awesome way. It's a cult classic. That movie would not work today. It's obviously the same concept, but a lot has changed to make everything make sense. For example, my character wasn't even in the original."
Dave stars alongside Toni Collette, Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin in the reimagining, and he admits he is a "huge fan" of the scenes he has watched.
He told MTV News: "I've seen some of the footage of the bloodier scenes, and I personally am a huge horror fan. What I like about this move is that they're really going for it."
