Police In Tennessee Have Arrested Two People Suspected Of Assaulting Country Music Producer Dave Brainard In A Brutal Attack Last Month (Sep15).
Brainard and his friend Deborah DeLoach were hospitalised on 27 September (15) after they were struck with a car while crossing a road in Nashville. The driver and his companion reportedly climbed out of the vehicle and began chastising the pair, before allegedly beating them up and fleeing the scene. The producer suffered serious injuries, which required extensive reconstructive surgery.
Now officials reveal they have arrested Dustin Carl Hargrove and Nichole M. Hargrove over the altercation. They have both been charged with misdemeanour assault, while Dustin has also been slapped with a count of felony aggravated assault.
A statement released by authorities reads: "The victims reported that Nichole Hargrove got out of the Infiniti (car) and began screaming at DeLoach and Brainard. The altercation became more heated, during which Dustin Hargrove is alleged to have gotten out and grabbed Brainard around the neck, causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the pavement. Nichole Hargrove is alleged to have grabbed DeLoach's hair and forced her to the ground. Dustin Hargrove is alleged to have then put his leg into DeLoach's chest, pinning her."
The Hargroves, who are being held on bail, had been in Nashville to attend a wedding celebration at the Country Music Hall of Fame, according to Tennessean.com.
Brainard, 40, has worked with artists including Brandy Clark, Jerrod Niemann and Ray Scott, while he has also written songs for the likes of Neal MCCoy, Sammy Kershaw, and Brooks & Dunn.
