Dappy Wants To Prove Himself With Debut Solo Album
Dappy didn't want many collaborations on his debut album because he wants to prove himself.
The 'No Regrets' hitmaker will release 'Bad Intentions' in September and although he teamed up with Queen legend Brian May on 'Rockstar', admitted after years of performing as part of N-Dubz with Fazer and Tulisa Contostavlos, he was eager to show off his own musical skills on the album.
Speaking at T4 On The Beach in Weston Super Mare on Sunday (01.07.12), he told BANG Showbiz: ''I'm not doing too many collaborations on the album which is out in September, basically I just want to prove myself because it's my debut, but next time definitely.
''It's hopefully gonna be huge. My first single is called 'Good Intentions', 'Bad Intentions' is the name of the album.
''It's got a bit of everything on it, hip hop, R&B, ballads.''
Dappy recently filmed a music video on the party island of Ibiza and said he had tried, unsuccessfully, to get Rizzle Kicks to take part.
He said: ''Me and Rizzle Kicks were killing it out in Ibiza, they were filming a video, I was filming a video and I tried to get them to do a Cameo but they're too hip.''
Meanwhile although Tulisa has gone on to find fame as a judge on 'The X Factor', Dappy has no plans to get involved as a judge or a performer on the reality TV show.
He said: ''I don't need the 'The X Factor', I'll do just fine without it.''
