N-dubz - Dappy Accused Of Spitting At Teenage Girls
Former N-Dubz star Dappy sparked a brawl at a gas station by allegedly spitting at two teenage girls after they labelled him "boring", a court has heard.
The British rapper has pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault and an affray charge stemming from the alleged incident at a garage in Surrey, England last February (12).
The case went to court this week (beg07Jan13), and in the opening statements, prosecutors claimed the 25-year-old star - real name Costadinos Contostavlos - started the fight by becoming involved in a war-of-words with two 18-year-old women who had allegedly spurned his advances.
The incident, which involved several other men, is said to have turned violent after Dappy allegedly spat at the pair.
Prosecutor Brian Stork told Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday (08Jan13), "What very quickly became apparent was however interested Mr Contostavlos might have been in the girls, they were not interested in him and so his attitude changed, and from being polite and inviting he became rude. He called the girls 's**gs'. He described one of them as 'ugly'. And then as a result of one of the girls calling him 'boring', he reacted by spitting at one of these two girls... It was a mob attack on a group of individuals who were unable to defend themselves against the numbers and ferocity of the attack. They were on the wrong end of a beating."
Dappy is standing trial with two other defendants - Kieran Vassell, 25, of west London, and Kalonji Stewart, 32, from Birmingham, England, who both deny charges of affray.
Another defendant, Alfred Miller, 28, of west London, pleaded guilty to affray and his case was adjourned for sentencing.
The trial continues.
