Style icon Daphne Guinness insists she doesn't dress for ''effect'' or put too much thought into what she wears.
Daphne Guinness doesn't dress for "effect".
The style icon is known for her daring outfits and quirky fashion sense but she insists she doesn't put too much thought into what she wears.
She explained: "The more you concentrate on something, the more it shows. I can't get dressed if I think about it too much. I don't dress for effect, and I think that it never works out when someone does."
Daphne recently revealed how she hate being called "eccentric" because the label she has been given because it doesn't represent her.
She said: "I truly hate the word. I'm actually very grounded. Also, eccentrics are almost asexual, and that is not something you can say of me, by any means.
"I try to find new ways of expressing myself and to use whatever it is I have creatively. I am not an eccentric, and I am not some sort of multitrillionaire just interested in buying clothes... What drives me now is the idea of something being against the world. I'm an artist, I suppose."
Daphne insisted she had always been experimental with her look and has never been boring with her clothes.
She said: "When I was a child, I was overly serious and thoughtful - a real tomboy, always dressing up as a knight or a pirate or a red Indian. If there is anything you can say about me, it's that I have not lost the imagination I had when I was five years old."
