Dannii Minogue 'Privileged' To Be 40

Dannii Minogue feels ''privileged'' to have turned 40.

The former UK 'x factor' judge lost her best friend to cancer in the mid 2000s, and says it made her appreciate the landmark birthday last October so much more.

The mother-of-one explained: ''For me, the biggest thing was just cherishing every moment. A lot of people asked me if I was scared about turning 40, but that was the last thing on my mind.

''I have lost one of my best friends to cancer and I thought, 'She didn't get the privilege of reaching 40 and here I am'.

''It made me feel so many emotions but none of them had to do with, 'I need more eye cream'. It was just that it was a special moment. I really embraced it. I loved it.''

Now living in Melbourne, Australia, with partner Kris Smith and their one-year-old son Ethan, Dannii admits she would consider a return to the UK 'X Factor' if show boss Simon Cowell invited her.

She told Hello! magazine: ''I really don't know what's happening - that's up to Simon Cowell.

''I haven't ruled out coming back to the UK for anything and I think all of the show's fans know that I love it.

''I would love to do it again, but it's all in the hands of Mr. Cowell.''
