Daniel Radcliffe's Suppressed Character

Daniel Radcliffe had to suppress his "natural energy" in 'Woman in Black'.

The 'Harry Potter' actor - who is known for his excitable personality - found playing the lead character of Arthur Kipps in the movie was difficult for him as he had to subdue himself constantly.

At the world premiere of the new movie at the Royal Festival Hall in London last night (24.01.12), he told BANG Showbiz: "It's all about the restraint and the withheld quality. You know, I'm quite a hyperactive, excitable kind of person so it was a matter of really taking away my own natural energy and sort of subduing that to give some sense of pathos and depth."

Daniel's four-year-old godson, Misha Handley, plays Daniel's son in the movie, and he admitted he loved playing the part with someone so close to him.

He added: "I was actually much more concerned about his wellbeing on set than I was about the scenes. It was fantastic to have him with us. He is so sweet, I miss seeing him."

Daniel's co-stars Shaun Dooley, Ciaran Hinds and Liz White were also on the red carpet, as well as director James Watkins and screenwriter Jane Goldman.
