Daniel Radcliffe - Daniel Radcliffe Hosts Broadway Event For New York Students
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe thrilled hundreds of drama students on Monday (06Jun11) by introducing them to the New York stage as part of a special Broadway celebration.
The British actor, currently starring in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, was the master of ceremonies at the annual Music Theatre International Broadway Student Celebration in the Big Apple's Majestic Theatre, which houses long-running hit The Phantom of the Opera.
Radcliffe looked on as youngsters from schools in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan took to the stage to perform songs from musicals including Guys and Dolls, Annie and Disney's Aladdin, and the 21 year old was thrilled to take part in the event.
He tells the Associated Press, "I suppose I am getting to the point where I'm considered experienced now! This is my second stage show in How To Succeed... It's a little weird to be thought of as being the old hand but I suppose in this room, I kind of am...
"(It's) a little bit nerve-wracking when you know you're going to be introducing things to an audience of teenagers. That's enough to get you a little bit nervous. It's very good, it's exciting. It's such a fantastic organisation and such a brilliant project for all these kids. It's a real pleasure."
