Daniel Radcliffe hopes to attract girls

Daniel Radcliffe has been told his new sex scenes will increase his success with women.

The British actor - who split from his actress girlfriend of two years Rosie Coker in October and is now reportedly dating his co-star Erin Darke - is very proud of his intimate man-on-man sex scenes in his new indie drama 'Kill You Darlings', in which he plays the late gay Beat poet Allen Ginsberg, and his director John Krokidas told him girls would swoon over it.

The 23-year-old former 'Harry Potter' star told E! News at the Grey Goose Blue Door lounge at the Sundance Film Festival: ''It was something new. But you know what, we shot that whole scene in maybe an hour and a half so it was incredibly fast-paced. I didn't really have time to stop to think and worry about it.

''John was very helpful in furnishing me with a lot of graphic detail of what I would be experiencing at the various stages.''

The director had a friend play Daniel's male fling instead of selecting an actor via a casting call and Daniel said it made him much more comfortable.

The gay rights activist said: ''We were able to hang out a little bit on set and get to know each other a little bit, which I think is important when you're doing a scene so intimate. You have to feel like you're both in it together.''

Daniel was later overheard telling his director that he had heard female viewers were ''turned on'' by the scene and John replied: ''I told you. I told you girls were going to be into it.''

The actor revealed last year that he lost his confidence after finishing filming the 'Harry Potter' movies.

He said: ''With any kind of artistic thing it's a muscle, like any athlete, and the moment you're not doing it, you lose all confidence.

''That's why I'm terrible with down time. And actually what's been great about the last year and a half is that I have found a confidence. Before, basically, by the time we got to the end of 'Potter', I was going, 'I don't know if I can do this, I don't know if I'm good enough.'''
