Dane Bowers - Dane Bowers Sentenced To Community Work After Admitting Assault
British singer Dane Bowers has been ordered to undertake 120 hours of unpaid community work after admitting an assault charge.
The former Another Level star was arrested following a bust-up in Norwich, England in June (12), and pleaded not guilty to two counts of racially aggravated assault and one of racially aggravated harassment during an appearance before magistrates in the city later that month.
He was due to stand trial on Monday (03Dec12), but he appeared in court and pleaded guilty to one assault charge and one charge of threatening behaviour, both without any racial element.
Judge Stephen Holt ordered Bowers to complete 120 hours of unpaid work for the community and pay $1,600 (£1,000) in legal costs.
Judge Holt told Bowers, "You got thoroughly drunk, putting it politely, and got in all sorts of trouble. It seems highly unlikely that you, given your background, would have made racist remarks."
