Dancing With The Stars: Melissa And Roshon Wave Goodbye
Tuesday (May 8, 2012) was double-elimination night on Dancing With The Stars and the show's host, Brooke Burke Charvet was not enjoying the added pressure of having to tell two couples that they would be leaving the contest. "I don't like tonight", USA Today tell us that she muttered soon after the start of the show.
The drama of the double elimination was tempered with some entertainment, courtesy of Chris Brown, who performed 'Turn Up The Music,' from his forthcoming album 'Fortune.' In addition to Brown's turn in the spotlight, some of the original dancers from American Bandstand also took to the floor, in tribute to the late Dick Clark. The distractions couldn't last forever though and soon it was down to Charvet to announce which of the celebrities would be heading home. The Disney star Roshon Fegan, 20, was the first of the celebrities to be booted out and said "I am happy to add ballroom dancing to my super-duper moves." He left smiling, leaving Melissa Gilbert to learn that she was facing a similar fate. Gilbert's departure was a more emotional one, as she wiped away tears, saying "I can't even describe what a learning and growing experience this has been. It's been a real blessing and a joy."
Yesterday was Gilbert's 48th birthday and her dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy said "I wish I could have given you a better birthday present". There were no hard feelings between the couple though, and Melissa said "Maks has been amazing. An incredible teacher. An incredible friend." The remaining celebrities left in the final four are Donald Driver, Maria Menounos, William Levy and KATHERINE JENKINS.
