Crystal Bowersox Beats Lee Dewyze In Idol Album Sales
In the battle of the 'Idol' acts, Bowersox secured the week's best-selling album despite a 71% drop in sales. Her debut record, 'Farmer's Daughter' sold 11,000 copies pushing its total sales well past the 100,000 mark. 24-year-old DeWyze, who was crowned the eventual winner of 'Idol' season nine, sold only 6,000 copies of his album 'Live It Up'. Other former contestants from the reality singing competition maintained their places in the Top 200, with Carrie Underwood selling a further 3,000 copies of her album 'Carnival Ride', and Fantasia taking her total sales of album 'Back To Me' to 384,000 after selling 6,000.
Bowersox's debut album hit shelves back in December 2010 and she performed the title track live on The Ellen Degeneres show on 16th December 2010. The singer-songwriter is set to make an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today (6th January 2011) where she will be promoting her album 'Farmer's Daughter'.
