Cruz Denies Any Romance With Martinez
Spanish beauty Penelope Cruz has denied any romance between her and Kylie's ex-squeeze Olivier Martinez.
The 32-year-old actress was seen hugging the French actor just 12 hours after he and the Aussie pop princess ended their four-year relationship.
Tabloids and gossip mags have much speculated the fidelity of Martinez after he was spotted with Israeli model Sarai Givati and Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez, yet the couple state the split was amicable and they "remain close friends".
Cruz claims she was only comforting her close friend at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
"Olivier and I have been friends for seven years. We are very close," she said in comments reported by the World Entertainment News Network.
The Volver star, who has previously dated fellow film stars Tom Cruise and Matthew Mcconaughey, is determined to be a good friend to the suddenly-single Martinez, saying: "You can understand it's a difficult time for him right now, so I have been there for him to offer support."
And Penelope seems to be enjoying her role as the shoulder to cry on: "It was lovely seeing him the other day - it has been such a long time."
"He's a great guy, but no, nothing happened," she added.
So, no Valentine presents for Martinez then?
