Cruz Battling Cannes Food Poisoning
Oscar winner Penelope Cruz is battling a bout of food poisoning in the south of France after arriving at the Cannes Film Festival to promote her new movies NINE and BROKEN EMBRACES.
The Spanish star was forced to cancel a promotional event on Monday (18May09) because she was feeling unwell, and now she's fighting to get fit so she can attend the premiere of Broken Embraces - her latest collaboration with director Pedro Almodovar - on Tuesday (19May09).
Explaining the actress' absence, Nine producer Weinstein told reporters on Monday, "Tomorrow night is her premiere for her movie. She is getting better and is seeing a doctor right now."
