Criss' Ex-wife Protests Against Building Plans
KISS star PETER CRISS' ex-wife is fighting plans to offer accommodation to rock stars in her New York City neighbourhood - over worries famous residents will be too loud.
Former rock groupie Lydia Criss attended a public meeting on Tuesday (05Oct10) to voice her concerns about converting an Upper West Side townhouse into a short-stay rental for wealthy clientele.
The 62 year old, who lives across the street from the address, fears the 11-bedroom property will attract rock stars and their rowdy entourage and will be used for loud parties.
She said, "I'm concerned about the high-end part. It can mean Jay-Z and his crowd. I'm from a rock 'n' roll background. I know how crazy people can get with alcohol. There will be food and there will be odours and there will be noise."
Board members voted on Tuesday to reject the application but real estate executives are waiting for the project to be approved by city officials, reports the New York Daily News.
Criss was married to the Kiss drummer for 10 years in the 1970s.
