Cowell's 'Crazy' New Show
Britain's Got Talent will sift through thousands of talent hopefuls in search of a unique act to star on the Royal Variety Show. Hopefuls will perform their talent in front of a studio audience, with three judges deciding whether they really have talent.
Cowell will be joined by Amanda Holden and ex-Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan on the judging panel.
"Its the craziest show on Earth," Cowell told The Sun.
"Where else could you find a 73-year-old granny rapper, a woman with a bizarre relationship with her horse and a bald bloke who wears what looks like a dartboard on his chest?
"Ive never worked on anything so barmy. There were thousands of these people queuing for auditions it was a real circus."
The show will be hosted by Ant and Dec and the overall winner will receive £100,000 in prize money.
But not all of the contestants are happy with Cowell's new show.
Preston rapper Matthew Cummins told the Lancashire Evening Post that the producers of the show tried to make him look foolish when his was put in front of the 1,000 person audience.
He says he was stopped 25-seconds into his act by Cowell after being "forced" by producers to say that he was going to conquer America with his music. "Simon stops me and said I looked like something I wasn't," said Mr Cummins.
"I am an estate agent by trade and he said I looked like a goldfish trying to be a shark, or something like that. Then Amanda Holden chipped in and Piers Morgan said something like, 'stick to selling houses'."
Mr Cummins says he believes the producers will edit the clip to make him look "cocky and arrogant".
