Courtney Robertson Marries Bachelor Ben In Hometown?
Viewers tuning in late to Monday night's episode of The Bachelor may have gotten a little shock, having seen frontrunner Courtney Robertson and Bachelor Ben saying their vows in the presence of an officiant. Ben had travelled to Courtney's hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona to meet with her mom Sherry, dad Rick and sister Rachel, but it seemed Courtney had a surprise for Ben.
According to US Weekly magazine, Robertson and Ben ended up taking a walk to the local park, where Courtney had said she "always wanted to get married". She eventually managed to coax this year's Bachelor into writing wedding vows for a fake "rustic" ceremony, complete with rings and a stand-in officiant. Speaking at the 'ceremony', Courtney told Ben, "I'm looking for love. Real, passionate, can't-live-without love. When I look at you from across the room, I know that the key to your happiness is the key to mine. Ben, I want to love you and treat you right. Every day and every night.I hope you know I'm 100% ready for marriage and so happy I found you. I want you to know that I'm in love with you". The day hadn't started particularly well for the potential couple, with Courtney's mother telling cameras, "I'd be very surprised if she is in love with him.Ben's a nice young man, very polite, but I'm not sold on it yet".
Though initially stunned and perhaps a little put-off by Robertson's fake wedding ceremony, Ben later admitted it was touching gesture, saying, "To put something like this together in such a romantic, intimate setting means so much to me.She's an incredible woman and I feel like I could have written a whole lot more [for my vows], which is a good thing". Courtney remains the big-favorite to win this year's competition.
