Courtney Love - Courtney Love Loses Control Of Kurt Cobain's Publicity Rights To Daughter

Courtney Love has lost control of her late husband Kurt Cobain's publicity rights to the couple's only child.
According to sealed documents obtained by The Fix.com, Frances Bean Cobain has taken over the management of the Nirvana frontman's name, likeness and image.
The files allegedly show that Love, who been estranged from her daughter since 2009, agreed to step down as acting manager of End of Music Llc - the company in charge of handling the money generated from the late rocker's image - in 2010.
The move came after Love was loaned $2.75 million (£1.7 million) from her daughter's trust fund.
Cobain, 19, owns a 37 per cent stake in her father's estate.

Sons of Anarchy Final Season: Charlie Hunnam Spills Details 4296594 News

Speaking at the Television Critics Association preview night on Monday, lead actor Charlie Hunnam told reporters that "Jax is in a very schizophrenic state, he's obviously very sad and vulnerable and broken with this huge amount of revenge and anger in his heart." Of course this is a result of the events in the final episode of the sixth season, which aired at the end of 2013. The shocking betrayal of Jax by his mother Gemma astounded fans and critics, and the fallout is sure to be massive when the show returns on September 9th.

Charlie HunnamHunnam has played Jax since the very first episode of 'Sons of Anarchy' which aired in 2008.

The show has a strong fan base and often receives positive reviews, but has failed to pick up as many accolades as other FX shows such as 'Damages' and 'The Shield'. However, Hunnam stated he was more concerned with delivering a satisfying end to the series for fans than winning awards. "It doesn't matter at all," he said. "I feel there's this perception that we're upset about it. I really don't give a sh--. I make this for the people who love the show."

The final season also boasts some familiar faces joining the cast: rockers Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson. Love will play the teacher of Jax's young son Abel in what has been described as a pivotal role, whilst Manson will be seen as Ron Tully, a powerful white supremecist who has ties to the local prison. Love and Manson are not the first unlikely celebrities to guest star on the show; past familiar faces that turned up in the town of Charming include author Stephen King and Baywatch icon David Hasselhoff.

Now, Why Did 'Sons of Anarchy' Cast Marilyn Manson? 4297641 News

We already know that rockers Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love are two of the new faces on Sons of Anarchy for season 7 and creator Kurt Sutter has been explaining his decision to cast the musicians, at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour in Beverley Hills.

"I tend to do this every season, I like to do some casting that's a little bit outside the box, you know, from Stephen King to David Hasselhoff - we try to do stuff that's fun," Sutter said at the Sons of Anarchy panel.

Manson plays Ron Tully, described as a "white supremacist prison shot-caller who Jax [Charlie Hunnam's character] uses to expand his power base."

"Manson, I became friends with through some music buddies and he's a huge fan of the show and that was him basically just wearing me down and we found a great role for him and he's great," Sutter said.

As for Love, well, Sutter doesn't know the Hole singer "that well" but knew she harboured an interest of being on the show.

"And then, we had this role of a school teacher and I thought, 'Who better than Courtney Love?' and so it sort of fits into our parameters of 'Sons of Anarchy' casting," Sutter added.

Sons of Anarchy season seven premieres on September 9 at 10pm ET/PT on FX. The season six finale was the second most watched episode of the season and the most watched finale in the series' history.

"Embrace Life": Frances Bean Cobain Warns Lana Del Rey Over Death Wish 4256067 News

Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, has lashed out at pop star Lana Del Rey over quotes printed in a recent interview with The Guardian in which Del Rey expresses a desire to be dead.

In a conversation discussing Lana's heroes, including Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse, who happen to be dead, Lana revealed her disenchantment with fame and attraction to death. "I wish I was dead already," she said, adding "I don't want to have to keep doing this. But I am."

On Sunday, Frances Bean, who lost her father to suicide at a young age, called out Del Rey in a series of strong, but not overly harsh, tweets. "The death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize," she warned.

"I'll never know my father because he died young & it becomes a desirable feat because ppl like u think it's "cool" [...] Well, it's fucking not. Embrace life, because u only get one life. The ppl u mentioned wasted that life...Don't be 1 of those ppl."

As a final note, Frances added kindly "ur too talented to waste it away."

When challenged by Del Rey's fans over her remarks, Cobain reiterated: "I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience."

Lana hasn't yet publically responded to Frances' words but has in the past professed to being on great terms with Cobain's mother and Hole singer, Courtney. ''Courtney Love's a big inspiration. I like her, I talk to her a lot.. I like people who are similar to her [...] strong female characters," she said on French radio, France Inter.

Since Lana's controversial views made headlines, the 'Video Games' singer has taken to Twitter herself to lash out at the Guardian's music writer, Alexis Petridis. In tweets that have now been deleted, she wrote: "I regret trusting the Guardian. I didn't want to do an interview but the journalist was persistent. Alexis (sic) was masked as a fan but was hiding sinister ambitions and angles.

"Maybe he's actually the boring one looking for something interesting to write about. His leading questions about death and persona were calculated."

Frances Bean Cobain has no memories of Kurt 4212024 News

Kurt Cobain is like ''Santa Claus'' to his daughter.

Frances Bean Cobain was just a baby when her famous father committed suicide in 1994 and her mother Courtney Love says it is hard for the 21-year-old artist to hear other people's stories and memories of her dad because she has none herself.

Courtney said: ''You have to put yourself in Franny's shoes when it comes to her father because she feels like she's related to Santa Claus. Like, everyone loves him but she says she retains no memory of Santa Claus.

''Whereas I can remember him, his laugh, what he was like in bed, and how he was with her.''

Courtney - who, like her late spouse, has battled drug addiction - feels grateful her daughter is ''sensible'' and hopes she won't follow in her parents' footsteps.

She said: ''The cool thing about Frances is that she knows she's related to two junkies.

''I mean, she might smoke pot, maybe, but she's sensible. I thank God she was never introduced to prescription drugs when she was grown up.''

The Hole singer is incredibly proud of her daughter - who she was estranged from from 2009 until last year - though says her beauty ''freaks her out''.

She said: ''We're great now, we live four doors down from each other in LA.

''She's an avid reader, she's read all the classics. And she's so beautiful, like, Angelina beautiful, a little too beautiful. It's freaking me out.''

And Courtney approves of her daughter's engagement to The Eeries rocker Isaiah Silva.

She told Britain's Grazia magazine: ''He looks like Kurt right? He's a saint because she's a handful and I've no idea where she gets that from.''

Courtney Love wanted to help Peaches Geldof 4205587 News

Courtney Love tried to ''help and mentor'' Peaches Geldof.

The Hole rocker - who has battled drug addiction several times - was horrified when the tragic socialite, whose death last month has been linked to heroin use, visited her in Los Angeles at the Chateau Marmont, bringing with her a friend who was carrying a number of prescription drugs.

While Courtney admitted to ''pushing'' Peaches - whose mother Paula Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000 - out of the room because she was so tempted by the drugs, their encounter made her vow to want to try and help her however she could.

She said: ''My drug was heroin, I stopped taking it in the 90s, but I have taken the pills, the Roxycontin, Oxycontin.

''Peaches was in a room with a friend who had a bag full of these drugs, like 500 pills and I wanted it so badly, never have I ever wanted anything more - no man, no money - and I had to physically push Peaches and her friend out of the door.

''I was shaking and I kept thinking of the way her mother died and I thought I owe it to this girl to be an example.

''I was trying to help her, but at that point in her life, it proved to be impossible. Now the parallels to her mommy are horrific. It terrifies me for my own child.''

Courtney - who has 21-year-old daughter Frances Bean with late husband Kurt Cobain - admitted she wasn't ''shocked'' to learn of Peaches' death.

She added in an interview with Grazia magazine: ''You just can't believe it happened, it's so f***ing tragic. This girl was vivacious, so full of life and it was weird and horrible that she has passed away.

''I read heroin was involved and I was not shocked. I know how Peaches liked opiates.''

Kurt Cobain's Angsty Note About Courtney Love Reportedly Written By Love Herself 4180638 News

You’d think that twenty years on, the surprises and shocking twists around Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s relationships would be all but over. Not so, however. Last week, CBS reported on a note, found in Cobain’s pocket after his death, which seemed to reference his relationship with Love. The note apperared to be written by Cobain about his turbulent relationship with Love, but now, a biographer of the Nirvana frontman has said that the note was, in fact, written by Love herself.

Nirvana
Apparently the note found in Cobain's pocket was not written by him.

The note, initially said to be written by Cobain reads: "'Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife. Even when she’s a bitch with zits and siphoning all your money for doping and whoring.'"

The note was discovered in Cobain’s wallet back in 1994, but was only recently released. It was initially thought to have been written by Cobain himself, but Charles R Cross, author of the 2001 Cobain biography Heavier Than Heaven, claims differently. According to Cross, via The Guardian, it wasn’t Cobain who wrote the note, but Love. She apparently emailed him to say as much after the note was released. Love reportedly gave the note to Cobain before their 1991 wedding. According to Cross, the couple often wrote each other tongue-in-cheek notes and this one is in Love's handwriting.

Love and Cobain frequently wrote one another tongue-in-cheek messages.

Cobain was found dead in April of 1994, having shot himself with a shotgun in his home on Lake Washington Boulevard. He was found by an electrician who had come to do some work on the house. The police investigation determined that Cobain had committed suicide three days before, on April 5.

20 Years On, Kurt Cobain Still Has Something To Say About Courtney Love 4175686 News

A note, discovered in Kurt Cobain’s wallet after his death, mocks the wedding vows he shared with Courtney Love. According to CBS, which has recently obtained the note, taken from Cobain's wallet when police arrived at his home on April 8, 1994, after Cobain fatally shot himself, the message has never been made public before. The network has not published the note in full as of yet, but reports that it was written as a mock wedding vow.

Nirvana
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Cobain's suicide.

It is undated and written on stationary from the Phoenix hotel in San Francisco. Apparently it refers to Love as Cobain’s “lawful shredded wife” vwho would be "siphoning" his money for drugs. At one point he also reportedly calls her “a ***** with zits".

The message was found with Cobain’s body on April 8, 1994, days after the Nirvana frontman went into the greenhouse of his home and OD-ed on heroin, before taking a 20-gauge shotgun and shooting himself in the head.

A lot of information about Cobain and Nirvana has come to life in 2014, however none of it calls into question the conclusion of the original investigation. Earlier this year, in advance of the 20th anniversary of Cobain's suicide, a Seattle detective reviewed the case files, including evidence photos and statements. He found no new information to change the police conclusion that Cobain took his own life.

R.E.M Star Michael Stipe Will Be Presiding Over Nirvana's Hall Of Fame Induction.

The rumour was further fuelled by an Instagram post from Dave Grohl's current band, Foo Fighters, appearing to show Krist Novoselic's bass, Pat Smear's Fender Stratocaster, Grohl's drum set and what is allegedly Jett's Melody Maker. If Jett is to perform with the former Nirvana rockers, the previous theory that R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe is set to fill in for Kurt will be disproved.

Stipe will also preside over the 'In Bloom' rockers' induction, which will be attended by Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, and daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. Love has publically feuded with Kurt's former bandmates but previous quarrels will seemingly be put aside to honour a special night in rock 'n' roll history.

Tonight's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will be telecast May 31 on HBO.

Courtney Love: I don't want to be a cliche 4146683 News

Courtney Love insists she doesn't want to be a ''rock 'n' roll cliche''.

The Hole singer, who is the widow of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, claims people expect ''badass behaviour'' from her after 15 years of crazy antics but she is bored of the stereotype.

She told NME magazine: ''So I'll be that girl onstage, but I'm just over it. Taking my bra off and showing my boobs was fun for a while, but I'm 50 and I'm not gonna show my boobs.

''You'll still get the unexpected, but I don't really have the desire to be a cliche.''

The 49-year-old singer insists just because she's not flashing her flesh doesn't mean she's a ''boring old fart'', it simply means she wants to focus more on the music and roll 'n' roll performance.

She explained: ''That's where I put my energy. And I could use all that power and that energy for, at this age, good. And then I guess you are a boring old fart, but - guess what - it's doesn't mean that you can't play rock.''

Courtney will tour the UK next month as a solo artist and is back with new track 'Wedding Day', while there are also rumours she could reform with her Hole band mates in coming months.
