Courteney Cox - Courteney Cox Has 'Strong Feelings' For David

Courteney Cox still has "strong feelings" for David Arquette.

The 46-year-old actress - who announced last October she and her husband were having a trial separation after 11 years of marriage - has no idea if they will get back together in the future and admits she can't help but feel protective of the 39-year-old actor, who recently underwent a stint in rehab for alcoholism.

She said: "I don't know what the future holds, and I guess, because I still have strong feelings for David ... I'm his biggest protector. I can't help it.

"Most guys aren't mature, are they? ... If you know who David is, you know what his intentions are, how honest he is, and how big his heart is ... You can't really get mad at David because he's not a malicious person."

The 'Cougar Town' actress has no plans to date again yet and admits she wouldn't know where to start.

She told the new issue of America's Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I have no desire right now (to date). I'm not saying never; it just seems weird. I don't even know how that would happen or how you meet people. I don't like to go out. I'm not great at small talk ... I don't like to go to parties.

"There's a sign on my forehead: exiting social life, entering into isolation."

Regardless of what happens between her and David, Courteney says the couple's six-year-old daughter Coco will always be their main concern.

She added: "She's our number one priority. No matter what happens, she'll be OK because she knows that she is completely safe, loved, and we'll protect that more than anything in the world."

The couple tweeted the news at the same time and attached the same picture. Cox wrote "I'm engaged to him!" whilst McDaid's corresponding image was captioned "I'm engaged to her!"

The Friends actress was introduced to her new fiancé by British singer Ed Shereen who has relocated to the US. McDaid moved to Nashville to work with Shereen in early 2013 and evidently met some time later that year.

E! spotted Cox wearing a huge diamond ring as she drove to dinner in Los Angeles a few days before the couple confirmed their engagement. The proposal coincided with Cox's 50th birthday celebrations. The couple flew to Amanyara in Turks and Caicos where they escaped the prying eyes of the paparazzi and, according to reports in the Star, sought out a secluded cove. The source said "Courteney and Johnny spent all of one afternoon on the beach. It was just the two of them and they found a secluded spot in a cove. It was a very romantic and beautiful setting."

A Week In News: Silly Celebs Special - Lana Drama, Shia's Arrest, Oldman's Foot-In-Mouth 4261450 News

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rollercoaster: Lana Del Rey has had a week she'll never forget. The pop star's new album, Ultraviolence, has been met with positivity by critics and has earned Del Rey her first Billboard 200 number one. However, the singer's album publicity has risked being blighted by certain comments Lana made in a recent interview in which she appears to glamorise the troubling trend of musicians dying young. Decide for yourself here. Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean, lashed out at Lana over her words. Find out what went down.

Gary Oldman Blunder: Silly, silly Gary Oldman. The actor has earned himself a reputation as one of Hollywood's thinkers but his thoughts on political correctness caused a stir this week. In a Playboy interview, the 56 year-old referenced Mel Gibson's infamous 2006 run-in with the police where he voiced an anti-Semitic view. In an attempt to play down Gibson's words, Oldman ended up sounding an awful lot more anti-Semitic than his fellow actor. Find out what was said. Oldman did release an apology, which can be read here.

Shia LaBeouf Arrest: So, Shia LaBeouf's back in the news...for all the wrong reasons. The actor had seemingly been lying low since his "I am not famous anymore" bag-wearing incident but has been catapulted into the headlines once more having been arrested and charged for disruptive behaviour during a New York Cabaret performance. What did he do exactly? Find out here. And read about the Fury star's 5 weirdest moments of all time.

Bryan Cranston

Breaking Broadway: Whilst Shia has been wreaking havoc upon an NYC theatre, actor Bryan Cranston has been starring in Broadway play All The Way as US President Lyndon B. Johnson. The Breaking Bad actor has seen his turn onstage break records, having grossed more than $1.4 million in a week, more than any new straight play in Broadway history. Awesome stuff, huh? Read more here.

George Lucas Museum: It would be a pretty pompous act for someone to open a museum dedicated to themselves but not when you're Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas. The director has announced plans to build a unique, interactive giant museum in Chicago to house his vast collection of artwork and memorabilia; a decision the city of Chicago has embraced. Click for more details here.

Phil Collins Donation: In other museum-related news, pop star Phil Collins has announced plans to donate his entire collection of Alamo battle artefacts to Texas. Collins' collection was inspired by a lifelong fascination with the Alamo and American history and reportedly includes cannonballs, a shot pouch believed to have belonged to Davy Crockett as well as a sword belt believed to have been worn by William B. Travis when he died in battle. More info here.

Courteney Cox And Johnny McDaid Confirm Engagement With Sweet Tweets 4261172 News

Courteney Cox has become engaged to boyfriend Johnny McDaid and has confirmed the news via Twitter. The couple, who have been dating for around eight months, jetted to Amanyara in Turks and Caicos on the 14th June to celebrate the actress' 50th birthday and seem to have gotten engaged as well.

Sharing a cute beach selfie, Cox wrote "I'm engaged to him!" whilst the Snow Patrol musician posted the same photo with the caption "I'm engaged to her!"

The pair began dating last year after they were introduced by the British singer, Ed Sheeran. Although they haven't been dating that long, they're noticeably close and clearly in love.

A source speaking to E! spotted the couple canoodling on a secluded beach and said "It was very romantic and a beautiful setting...Courteney looked like there was nowhere else in the world she would rather be and just so happy to be doing what she was doing. Johnny was doting on her, rubbing her leg and passing her a cold towel when she got hot. They seem very happy together and totally in love."

It is not known when or where the couple are planning to tie the knot but at least Cox may be looking to marry sooner than later to provide a little more stability for her 10 year-old daughter, Coco, who she shared with ex-husband David Arquette.

Just What Was It That Made 'Friends' So Great? 4251810 News

We’re feeling pretty nostalgic (and old) because it’s been ten years since the final episode of Friends aired. We’d sort of been getting by on the hope that a reunion episode would take place, but mean Matt LeBlanc ruined that dream. The actor, who played Joey, recently said: “That show was about a finite period of time in life, after college and before your relationship and family starts and where your friends are your support system. That’s what the magic of the show was - everyone goes through that and can relate to that.”

Friends Jay Leno
The cast of Friends with Jay Leno [Photo: Getty images]

That wasn’t the only magic that Friends had. The reason that the show was so popular for so long was a combination of a dozen or so factors that just worked. The chemistry between the cast was palpable, you could just tell that Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox were best friends in real life and that translated onto their onscreen friendship.

MORE: Courtney Cox has said it, Friends reunion is not going to happen

Each actor couldn’t have been picked more perfectly. No-one could argue that David Schwimmer wasn’t perfect as geeky (but sort of hunky) palaeontologist Ross, or that Matthew Perry didn’t have the dead-on comic timing combined with a hint of vulnerability that made him Chandler. We laughed with them, most of us grew up with them, the Friends gang went through their rites of passage onscreen before lots of us, letting us know what we were in for.

It was hard not to become deeply invested in the show, the characters were so well written and maintained over a long period of time. Any Friends fan could say, “That’s so Rachel,” or “Monica would never do that,” and know with a certainty that you knew them as people rather than as characters. Even the sound of the show’s theme tune, The Rembrandts “I’ll Be There For You,” inspires a Pavlovian in anyone who has been a fan of the show.

The final episode of Friends, which saw Monica and Chandler move out of their famous apartment, Ross and Rachel reunited, Phoebe married off and Joey…well, still Joey, raked in $70 million for NBC, at the time a record for an entertainment series. The six friends moved on with their lives and fans were left to imagine where they ended up. Fortunately, fans knew them so well they’ve all got their own pretty good idea about what happened to their long lost friends and maybe that’s for the best.

Science Boy Investigates - David Schwimmer Helps Solve Stabbing 4216210 News

He’ll always be there for you. David Schwimmer morphed into Ross Geller, then into Science Boy to help out the NYPD as they tried to get to the bottom of a stabbing.

David SchwimmerSchwimmer made sure the cops had a pretty good idea what happened that night

So he didn’t morph into anyone, but Schwimmer did invite the police into his apartment so they could peruse security camera footage of the assault, which they subsequently left with and my use in court. Robert Rainey of Newark was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and robbery, sources told The New York Post. A 26-year-old was taken to Bellevue Hospital with stab wounds to the face.

“Four years ago, I would say David Schwimmer was the least popular guy on the block with the construction and all,” said resident Jayson Fillermutter, 31 to the Post. “But he has turned out to be a decent neighbor, and I am glad to hear he helped the cops with that stabbing.”

The “construction” Fillermutter talks of is the work done by Schwimmer on his East Village townhouse. After spending $4m on it in 2010, the Friends star angered locals by tearing it down and building himself a brand new one, causing lots of noise in the process. But with his recent actions, he’s Schwimming in praise from his neighbors.

But if all this talk about Schwimmer and his ‘hero’ antics has got you pining for some more Friends action, you better dig out the boxset because there’s no way they’re getting back together for a reunion. “It’s not gonna happen,” Cox told the soon to be retiring David Letterman on Late Show. "Only because once you say I like it, they contact every other cast member and say, 'Well Courteney's into it'. It's not going to happen."

Cougar Town Will Return For Sixth And Final Series 4189064 News

Cougar Town has been renewed for its sixth and final series. The hit TBS series, starring Courtney Cox will finish its six year run in early 2015, it was announced yesterday (10th May).

The final season will include 13 episodes which will wrap up the series which also stars Josh Hopkins, Cristina Miller, Busy Philipps, Ian Gomez and Dan Byrd. Cougar Town centres on Jules Cobb (Cox) and her group of friends who survive the ups and downs of life in small town America.

Although the series initially aired on ABC, it was picked up by TBS in January of last year. TBS effectively saved the show from cancellation after two series on ABC. The show quickly became one of the networks best rated comedies with the most recent season averaging more than 2 million viewers with a 1.3 rating, as E! reports.

Cougar Town is not the only show to have been renewed this week. CBS confirmed The Mentalist, starring Simon Baker, would be returning despite a declining audience. Other shows have not been so lucky and a number of networks have confirmed they will be axing such shows as Hostages, The Crazy Ones and Dracula.

The news of Cougar Town’s renewal comes amid continued rumours of Cox’s possible involvement in a reunion for the hit sitcom Friends. Unfortunately for fans of the hit comedy, Cox isn’t interested in being part of a reunion and a film of the show “isn’t going to happen.” Cox appeared on Letterman in late April and discussed the possible future of the show, she joked about the six cast members conflicting schedules, adding “Let me tell you something, there are six 'Friends' and I've been trying to put together a cast dinner for ten years. It doesn't happen. I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry. Matt LeBlanc cancelled last time right at the last minute, [David] Schwimmer lives here. So it's not going to happen."

David Arquette Has Another Baby: Pressure On Courteney Cox? 4174630 News

David Arquette and his girlfriend Christina McLarty welcomed a baby boy named Charlie West into the world on Monday (28th Feb.), it has been confirmed. "Mom, dad and baby are doing well," Arquette's rep told People. "They appreciate all of your well wishes and thank you for respecting their privacy at this time."

Christina McLarty David Arquette
Christina McLarty & David Arquette Have Given Birth To A Son, Charlie West.

Charlie was born around half-past noon on Monday in L.A. and weighed in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces. The Scream actor, 42, and the former Entertainment Tonight correspondent, 33, met in 2011 but have dated on and off due to difficult relationship logistics brought about by living in L.A. and New York respectively.

More: David Arquette is an "instinctive" father.

The showbiz pair cranked up the commitment last November when they announced they were expecting a baby. Unfortunately, there are no official pictures of baby Charlie just yet, which can be attributed largely to David's distaste for social media. "I shut down my Twitter because people are just cruel," he told Katie Couric late last year. "They're just mean on social media, and that all stems from people being mean to them, when they were younger. [...] I feel like we just need to be kinder to people, and I try to."

David Arquette
David Is Known To Be A Devoted Father, But There's No Photos Of Little Charlie Just Yet.

Both parents have been married before - Arquette to Courteney Cox and McLarty to Girls Gone Wild's Joe Francis - but only David has had children before. He and fellow actor Cox are parents to 9 year-old Coco from a marriage that ended in 2013 after a split in 2010.

Though David and Christina's happy news certainly poses the question whether Courteney will have another child with Johnny McDaid, the Friends actress won't be sitting by enviously as her husband raises his newborn son. In fact, the star herself has admitted that things are pretty amicable with David, who has given the seal of approval to her new beau, the Snow Patrol guitarist.

Rumours abound over whether Johnny and Courteney will soon be tying the knot and whether there'll be a little one on the way. Us Weekly's source has confirmed the rumours, revealing that a wedding will be happening "sooner than later" and "They are talking about having a child together."

Courteney Cox Opens Up About New Boyfriend Johnny McDaid: "He Supports Me In Every Way" 4171447 News

Courteney Cox seems very loved up with new boyfriend Johnny McDaid.

The 49 year-old actress and her Snow Patrol musician beau hit the red carpet together in New York City for the premiere of her directorial debut, 'Just Before I Go', on April 24th.

The pair were anything but shy when it came to showing off the affection they feel for each other, and when asked about their romance, Cox couldn't help but gush about how happy she is.

"He supports me in every way," the former 'Friends' star told Us Weekly at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday.

"He supports me creatively," she added. "He really believed in the movie...and not just because he likes me, though I know that helps."

In fact, McDaid liked the upcoming film so much that his band wrote three new tracks for it.

"We get to kiss between takes," the 37 year-old Brit added, when referring to working with Cox. "Courteney is the most completely confident person I've ever met - at everything."

"She gets music. She gets art. She gets the way a scene gets constructed, the way dialogue works," he continued. "And she puts it all together in her mind and then explains it to the world and makes movies that make people laugh and cry, squirm and jump, all those things."

The couple, who first went public with their relationship last December (2013), are even planning what their future together holds, including marriage and children.
