Country legend Ray Price has been hospitalised with a blood infection.
The singer, who is battling pancreatic cancer, was taken to a medical centre on Tuesday night (08Oct13), according to his wife Janie, and treated for sepsis.
In a post on Price's Facebook.com page, his wife writes, "We rushed him to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and treatment was started. Ray's blood pressure dropped too low and his heart rate too high. We were in watchful crisis all night long and through out early morning hours before he stabilized. Dr. Red Duke is here in charge and coordinating all of the Specialists treating Ray."
She adds, "I am at Ray's bedside and have not left him for a second. I will continue to be ever watchful and give updates as Ray continues to improve."
Price has been in and out of hospital in recent months and he was forced to cancel a handful of concerts this summer (13) after having kidney stones removed.
The For the Good Times hitmaker, 87, was also admitted to a medical centre in May (13) with severe dehydration, a common side effect associated with chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
